The role
Care, supervision, and safe play
Doggy Daycare Attendants are responsible for the ethical care and safe play of dogs in Jollytails daycare. You will supervise active playgroups, help dogs enter and leave the daycare safely, keep play spaces clean, serve scheduled meals, and communicate important observations to the team.
Active, attentive work
This is a physical role in a busy environment. Attendants need to stay alert, understand dog behaviour and play, set priorities quickly, and put safety first.
What you will do
Everyday responsibilities
- Monitor playgroups and respond promptly to changes in dog behaviour or group dynamics.
- Manage dogs entering and leaving daycare gates and bring dogs to the front desk when requested.
- Provide scheduled feedings and follow Jollytails care procedures.
- Keep crates and play areas clean, safe, and disinfected, including immediate cleanup of waste, spills, garbage, and hazards.
- Complete end-of-shift cleaning and report concerns to a supervisor in a timely way.
- Take daycare photos and help share upbeat moments with thoughtful social-media captions.
- Offer friendly, professional service during dog handoffs and client interactions.
What we look for
A dependable teammate who understands dogs
Strong candidates are reliable, attentive, physically capable, and comfortable making quick decisions. Knowledge of dog behaviour and healthy play is important, as are clear communication, customer service, teamwork, and consistent follow-through.
The environment
Real daycare is lively and physical
You will work with large groups of dogs ranging from small to large. The environment can be loud and hectic, and everyday duties include cleaning urine, feces, and vomit. Outdoor work continues through rain, snow, wind, and sunshine. Jollytails operates seven days a week, so some evening or weekend work and schedule flexibility may be required.
Compensation
Starting at $17 per hour
