Pamela Smith, Co-Owner

IMG_2954.jpg

Like many people, Pam has loved a lot of dogs in her life and grew up always having a furry friend in the family. She has tremendous respect for the relationship between canine and human, and only someone who has loved (and been loved by) a dog can understand just how sublime it is :)

Pam was completely new to the pet-industry when Jollytails opened its doors in July 2012. Having spent well over a decade in the public sector working for government, it would be a big change in her professional life. She is excited to be a part of something that makes her feel good, and is still thrilled every day to be able to deal with fellow dog-lovers and to have the opportunity to hang out with your four-legged best friends. Pam has learned so much about behaviour, nutrition and best-care practices along the way and continues to learn, working hard for your trust.

Pam has completed her Canine Nutrition certification (Cert.CN) through the Canine Animal Sciences Institute, and is working on her advanced certification.

Pam's partner in crime during the inception of Jollytails was an eight year old Basset Hound named George (but more often referred to as Mister Goober) who was diagnosed with cancer in December 2014. Georgie passed away in July 2015 - Jollytails was in part inspired by this wonderful little man, her heart dog.

These days, she can be found hanging out with her big fluffy BFF Marty, a seven year old Old English Sheepdog, Doris the six year old feral cat who hails from under a shed in Lower Sackville, and Phoebe, the high energy baby chihuahua who we lovingly refer to as our “Teacup Pitty”.

Bronwyn, Senior Manager

Bronwyn was born and raised right here, in Nova Scotia, and always had pets growing up. She has been working in the doggy daycare/pet retail industries for over ten years and has been working at Jollytails since early 2016. She loves talking about dog food, so if you’re ever looking for a dog food nerd to chat with, she’s your girl!

When Bronwyn isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her Australian Shepherds, Lennox & Suri, Aria the Papillon, Luca the Akita and Jujube the cat! Bronwyn and her dogs enjoy competing in conformation, sprinter, rally obedience and barn hunt but their favourite thing of all is going for hikes in the middle of nowhere with Dog Dad!
