Privacy at Jollytails
Jollytails is a locally owned Nova Scotia business. We collect only the personal information reasonably needed to answer enquiries, provide requested services, manage reservations and applications, communicate with customers, and operate our business.
This policy applies to the Jollytails website and the forms and subscriptions connected to it. Links to other businesses or websites—including Jollytails Resort—lead to services with their own privacy practices.

What we collect
The information we receive depends on how you use the website.
- Contact information: your name, email address, telephone number, preferred Jollytails location, and the contents of messages you send.
- Daycare and reservation information: information about you and your dog, including contact details, the dog’s name, age, breed or mix, health and vaccination information, behaviour, attendance, requested dates, and other details needed to assess or provide care.
- Cancellation information: the details needed to identify and cancel an existing reservation.
- Employment information: contact details, availability, work history, qualifications, references, uploaded documents, and other information you choose to include in an application.
- Newsletter information: your email address and subscription preferences.
- Basic technical information: our hosting provider and embedded service providers may receive information such as your IP address, browser or device type, date and time of access, and the page or feature requested.
No Google Analytics
Jollytails does not currently use Google Analytics or advertising trackers on this website. If that changes, this policy and any required consent choices will be updated before tracking is introduced.
Why information is needed
How we use personal information
Jollytails may use personal information to:
- respond to questions and service enquiries;
- review daycare assessments and determine whether a service is appropriate for a dog;
- make, manage, change, or cancel reservations;
- communicate about a dog’s care, attendance, health, safety, or account;
- administer training, grooming, social, retail, and other requested services;
- process and evaluate employment applications;
- send newsletters and promotional email when you have subscribed;
- maintain business, safety, and legal records; and
- protect customers, staff, animals, Jollytails, and its systems from error, misuse, or unlawful activity.
Jollytails does not sell or rent personal information.
Companies that help operate the website
Service providers and embedded content
Jollytails uses service providers for specific business and website functions. They may process information for Jollytails according to their agreements and privacy practices.
Hosts contact, daycare reservation, assessment, cancellation, and employment forms.
Processes newsletter subscriptions and related email communications.
Hosts and delivers the Jollytails website and may process ordinary server and security information.
Provide social-media feeds or privacy-enhanced embedded videos. These services may receive technical and interaction information when their content loads or when you use it.
Cookies and similar technologies
Jollytails website code does not currently set analytics or advertising cookies. Embedded content from Facebook, TikTok, or YouTube may use cookies or similar technologies under those services’ own privacy practices. Browser privacy controls may be used to limit this activity, although doing so can affect whether embedded content appears.
Some providers may process or store information outside Canada. In that case, the information may be subject to the laws and lawful-access requirements of the country where it is processed.
External map, social-media, video, and resort links take you to other websites. Review the privacy choices offered by those services before providing information.

Consent and communication preferences
By voluntarily submitting a form or contacting Jollytails, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure reasonably necessary for the purpose explained at the time of collection and in this policy.
You may withdraw consent for optional uses, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may mean Jollytails cannot provide a service that requires the information.
You may unsubscribe from marketing email using the unsubscribe link included in the message. Service or safety communications related to an active booking or customer relationship are not promotional subscriptions.

Jollytails keeps personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy and for applicable business, safety, insurance, tax, employment, dispute-resolution, and legal requirements. Information that is no longer required is securely deleted, destroyed, or anonymized where practical.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Access is limited to people who need the information for their work. No website, email, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure, so please do not send unnecessary sensitive information through general email or message fields.

You may ask whether Jollytails holds personal information about you, request access to it, or ask that inaccurate information be corrected. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
